This week’s episode features Dan Robson, the senior writer and head of features for The Athletic Canada. He’s also the writer of “Bower: A Legendary Life”- a book featuring never-before told stories on the life of former Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Johnny Bower. The netminder won four Stanley Cups with the Toronto Maple Leafs, two Vezina Trophies, created the poke check, and is recognized by the NHL as one of its 100 best players. Dan speaks to us about his process for writing and compiling all the information for the book, why there was so much confusion over Bower’s original last name, and his new gig with The Athletic.
