A gay man named Leon Laureles was a caretaker for others nearly his whole life. At the age of 30 he was finally free to explore his own life and sexuality. Unfortunately Leon lived in a small Texas town where living your truth was not embraced by the good ol boys who lived there. If you weren't white and straight in this conservative town trouble could be waiting. And waiting it was for Leon who was not just quietly gay but also hispanic. I met with Leon's niece Arlene at the True Crime Paranormal Festival and was honored to be able to speak with her.
