Description

Pastor Jeff continued our study of the book of Mark by capturing the essence of Jesus as the "truth" in Mark Chapter 11. He paralleled the cursing of the fig tree with the cursing of God's chosen people Israel. As Jesus was entering Jerusalem to be crucified, he was hungry. He saw a "shiny" fig tree so he thought he could get physical sustenance from it. But, to his dismay, the tree had no fruit. Such is the case with many Christians today. They want Jesus to save and rescue them from their tumultuous situation. But, afterwards, they don't want to represent Jesus by bearing His fruit in their daily lives. Jesus states it plainly in Matthew Chapter 7 verses 19-20, "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Selah
