Pastor Jeff continued our corporate Bible study series this past Sunday from the book of 1 Corinthians. Like Paul, he taught us the importance of understanding the eternal significance of partaking in communion. The church at Corinth was irreverent in their observation of the Lord’s supper and it was a serious matter. (1 Corinthians 11:27-28) Paul explained the correct doctrine and admonished them to examine themselves. Pastor Jeff simplified the analysis even further by reminding us that you should not partake if you have not settled the most important choice in your life, the decision to accept Christ. Joshua 24:15 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
