GETTING AWAY FROM THE ENEMY
James 4:6–8
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.
There’s a powerful simplicity in these three short verses. They form a roadmap for victory over spiritual battles—clear steps that don’t depend on our strength, but on our surrender. James gives us three commands that work together like links in a chain: submit, resist, and draw near. When these are followed in order, the result is unmistakable—“the devil will flee.”
