The decline of the white population is due to natural decrease, the excess of deaths over births, for this aging population 1. The growth of new minorities, such as Asians, Hispanics, and multiracial persons, will contribute to the emergence of a majority-minority nation 1. Between 2014 and 2060, both the Asian and Hispanic populations will more than double at growth rates of 129% and 115%, respectively.
