Description

Regenerative farming is the current buzzword, but what really is it and what does it have the power to achieve? Jez Fredenburgh talks to Clare Hill, farm manager of a mixed farm in Oxfordshire, which has been integrating regenerative farming practices into the business since January 2020. The working farm is owned by FAI, a consultancy that helps food chain businesses to become more sustainable, including working with McDonalds on regenerative grazing management. Clare has upskilled the farm team, transformed the old working strategy for beef production, and has recorded a wide range of baseline metrics. She tells Jez how the changes have improved the farming business, made it more resilient, and a nicer place to work. She also talks about the mindset change needed and how she's changed her thinking from a conventional mind-set.
