Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He commanded His disciples to return to Jerusalem to wait for the “gift” that had been promised by God. What followed changed the course of history because the gift they received was the power that revealed itself in the Holy Spirit! It happened on the day of Pentecost and is often referred to as the birthday of the church. It is awe-inspiring that we can trace our beginnings to an event that defies comprehension. What is even more amazing is that the work of the Holy Spirit present in Jesus’ early ministry is even now present in our lives each and every day! We are delighted you are worshipping with us as we celebrate God’s gift to all believers—Espiritu Santo—the Holy Spirit!
