The first Sunday in November is observed throughout the Christian world as All Saint’s Sunday, a time when we remember those who have died in the faith and who are now in union with God as members of the “Church triumphant.” We set aside this sacred day to honor the memory of those we have loved and lost. The gift of the Church belongs to us because of the “great cloud of witnesses” who surround us and who speak to us in our memories. Today we celebrate their witness and give praise and thanksgiving to God for allowing them to grace our lives.
