This week we'll discuss why career is so important in our lives, not only because it makes us money, but also because it is how we spend most of our waking hours. We live in an age of unprecedented opportunity and can choose any career we want.
However, there is information overload for many of us - the paradox of choice.
A career exists to make your entire life better, not just your financial life. It all depends on your goals and what you want out of this category as well as what price you are willing to pay to get there.
No matter what level of financial or career success you have, there will always be a healthy level of stress. What matters is how much is enough for you. What price are you willing to pay in order to accomplish your goals?
Exercise for this week:
1. Make a list of where you want to go in your career.
2. For each item, ask yourself: What's it going to cost me to achieve this goal? Then write down the "price" you would have to pay.
3. Ask yourself: Do I want to pay this price? If yes, write down OK next to it.
