Dave Smith made some interesting factual observations about the Covid fiasco in his part of the problem podcast. This was in response to a Bill Maher interview of Andrew Cuomo. In addition, Rob Bernstein made the point that government tends to seize power and create sweeping regulations whenever they get an opportunity. It does not seem to matter if government admits to having incomplete information, when it is obvious the decision making should be left to individuals.
One additional observation is that bad government actors just simply move ahead to the next crisis. In order for our society to start heading back in the proper direction there need to be consequences. Government officials who clearly lied to us in order to gain power or Give financial opportunity to donors, need to be fired and put in jail. Those donor companies need to be punished also. Someday, maybe we can even get to the point where end users have the alternative to either use the government program or an alternative private program.
