Hear my thoughts on how the penultimate episode to Season 1 of Andor delivers the most emotional episode so far. The main theme of "Daughter of Ferrix" is loss and the score throughout reflects it beautifully, relying on scaled back versions of character motifs weve heard throughout the season. The acting continues to be top notch with heartbreaking scenes from Cassian and Mon Mothma, while Luthen remains a facinating character to try to figure out.
Typically, shows opt for a climatic event in the second to last episode of a season, with the finale being the falling action, but Andor takes a different route. The show oozes confidence because of these types of decisions. The creators know the story they want to tell and they stick to it.
All the pieces are in place and I have no doubt the finale next week will deliver something special.
