For many people, being asked to do a presentation means talking through a PowerPoint deck. Now I am a great fan of PowerPoint - though I often speak without any slides., but it is very easy to fall into some bad practice with slide decks.
So tonight I am going to talk a little about the problems with slide decks and how to avoid them. This is not a PowerPoint Tutorial, but I am going to show you a few of the slides I use in my Trans and Non Binary Inclusion presentation.
The most important thing to remember about any visual aids is that they are there to help the audience remember your message. They are not notes to remind you what to say. I know they can be useful as notes, but it is important to design them with the audience and your message in mind.
