Johnny drops down the concept of Meritocracy in sports and Kurt counters it with the "lack-of" in Hollywood. Sports and Acting are one and the same, except for that thing, "talent". In sports and most careers, the "best" of their field rise to the top and are guaranteed a spot in history. Johnny will never be given the silver spoon, the red carpet will never be rolled out for him. He will always have to prove himself to the powers "that be".
