Cultural Practitioner, Diana Almendariz, teaches practices, traditions & life skills in her Native Maidu homeland of Sacramento, where she feels like a refugee. Her grandmother, Bertha Norton (1897-2001), lived through 3 centuries and loved her cultures but not the bias. She stuck with the positive memories of Native people who lived through the chaos. Diana says,“this country should be called the United States and Its Many Sovereign Nations.” Sharing her knowledge of nature keeps her thriving.
