Many years ago, my mentor teacher June Gaede gave me a great list of commonly misspelled words that were important to teach my English students. I go over the first page today from 1-41; tomorrow, I'll finish with 42-76. You might be surprised at how some of them are actually spelled and used. Literacy matters...and so does spelling.
