I had a disturbing experience at the post office yesterday when I tried to interact with a two-year-old and say hello. We are masking indoors again in Los Angeles County, and it was so hard to communicate a caring gesture. I was very disturbed about the experience and it got me thinking about pending speech disorders that need our adult attention in the next few years to help these children learn the art of speaking. I feel we need to be proactive in making up for the loss of speech development and also other educational losses the last 18 months.
