The murders of a husband and wife and their daughter in Riverside allegedly stemmed from a catfishing incident involving the teenage daughter of one of the victims, police said.
Catfishing involves creating fake identities on social networking sites and dating apps. It is an online deceptive activity in which the people pretend to be someone, they actually are not, to gain interest or to impress others.
