Original Broadcast Date: 2/5/2024 When we started Airline Debacles three years ago, it started out as a tongue-in-cheek way of pointing out people's odd behavior on planes and at the airports. It was a unique approach to sharing these quirky news stories involving travel, and for all this time, quite frankly, it's been fun! A few weeks ago, we covered the story of a woman who squatted in the aisle, threated to urinate (but did not) while yelling obscenities and threats. While we are not apologizing for nor minimizing her behavior, the court system has filed charges against her that could strip away her freedom and levy $355,000 in fines. Now it's clear. What we are seeing is the Weaponization of the No-Fly List. By using a person's behavior on a plane (during a stressful time) as a yardstick, the government is working in collaboration with the airlines to control who is allowed to travel by air and who is not.
