Description

Dr. Sharon Whittaker-Davis, described herself as a serious student from elementary to graduate school. She probably spent more time in the library than the librarians. She sacrificed Ime at social events, which she regrets, but her investment in academicexcellence paid off. She received her bachelor’s, and master’s degrees fromHoward University where she earned high honors. She earned her doctorate atIllinois State University, while working full-time, excelling as a student and universityadministrator. Shortly after completing her doctorate, she pursued employmentat an HBCU (historically black college/university). This gave her anopportunity to give back to underserved students. Over the course of hermult-decade career, she served as Vice President for Student Affairs and Vice President for Academic Affairs based on where the need was greater. She developed an excellent rapport with supervisors, peers and especially students. She made a lasting positive impression where ever she lived and worked. She claims to be retired, but is as busy as ever working for herself. Her new business venture will be announced soon. Stay tuned.
