Larry Lee Is the President and Publisher of the Sacramento Observ-er Media Group.. The Sacramento Observer newspaper was established in 1962 to report on is-sues from an African American perspective as well as cover events that other newspapers were not covering. His family referred to it as “the family business”. Although he had two older broth-ers, his father asked him to consider taking over the business at some point in the future. The time came around 2008. He led the business through the 2008 financial collapse, the pivot from print to digital media and COVID-19.
