Between 1989 and 1993 Australia was rocked by the gruesome killings of seven foreign backpackers in the Belanglo State Forest. The tragedy came to be known as the “backpacker murders” and remains one of the worst string of homicides to take place in the country, and the man behind them maintains his innocence even after decades behind bars.
