Scott Avedisian is the CEO of RIPTA, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority. RIPTA's mission is "to provide safe, reliable and cost effective transit service with a skilled team of professionals responsive to our customers, the environment, and committed to transit excellence." Scott Avedisian became CEO in 2018, after leading the city of Warwick, RI as Mayor for eighteen years. His tenure in Warwick was highlighted with projects that showed his commitment to good government and public service – a commitment that continues with his work at the helm of RIPTA.
