As Kirstin reaches the six-week countdown to the Couer d’Alene Ironman we get an update on how her training is going. She also covers nutrition and coaching tips to help set up younger female athletes for success. After discussing nutrition and training for our athletes beyond menopause last week, she felt it would be helpful to cover our athletes who are just starting out into sport. Kirstin covers frequently asked questions by pre-teens and teenagers when it comes to training with their cycle, what foods are best to support their performance, how to make food choices that are more whole foods based over processed, packaged foods. She also addresses how to flip the conversation and change the narrative from constant dieting to focusing on food that fuels performance to become fitter and faster.
