The Grand Canyon is more than just a spectacular place to visit. There are some mysteries hidden away in parts that are off limits to everyone. In 1909 The Smithsonian sent in a team to remove thousands of artifacts found in a cave. Once everything was gone the museum said there was never any expedition to remove anything. The Hopi Indians have a legend that says, way back when, a young member of the tribe wandered down an unused trail inside the canyon. At some point along the trail he found a cave. Inside were hundreds of coper and gold containers. There were statues and carvings showing men dressed in clothing unlike anything found in the area.
