Had Napoleon not attacked Egypt we might never have understood Hieroglyphs. The Rosetta Stone was found only because the wall it was hidden in was destroyed. Canned goods were invented to feed Napoleon's army. A man named Charles Barbier came up with a system of communication using holes punched into a piece of paper. This was called Night Writing. The military wasn't interested so blind people began using it. In 1391, the first toilet paper was invented to be used by the Chinese emperor.
