The name Caray is like royalty in baseball broadcasting. Three generations have graced the booth from the bombastic and tremendously popular Harry Caray, who called games for the St. Louis Cardinals, Oakland A’s and then both Chicago teams (first the White Sox and then the Cubs).
His son Skip became a household name in the Atlanta where he spent his entire career calling Braves’ games. And then there was his grandson, Chip, currently one of the voices of the Braves. Chip has carved out a wonderful career including jobs as the voice of the Orlando Magic and then a 7 year run replacing Harry Caray who died just several weeks before the two would have worked together.
Caray’s run in Chicago ended in a bitter divorce in Chicago and since then, he’s managed to continue an excellent career.
Could there be a 4th generation of Caray’s behind the mike? Chip’s twin sons are headed in that direction and you’ll Hera him discuss that and plenty more in this entertaining and memorable interview.
Listen to this quick preview and get ready for the Full Show "Tell Me A Story I Don't Know" with Chip Caray on Tuesday.
