Gary Fencik is part of arguably the greatest team in NFL history. The 1985 Bears were celebrated for not only going 18 and 1 and wiping out three opponents in the playoffs to win their only Super Bowl but also for their incredible personality. The team included Walter Payton, Jim McMahon and William “The Refrigerator” Perry. It was a gregarious if not at times, controversial group that included Fencik, the ferocious hitting safety who teamed with Doug Plank to be known as “The Hit Men.”
