Description

Nearly 37 years and counting. That’s how long John Paxson has been with the Chicago Bulls in a variety of roles. He was part of three championship teams as a player and also hit a game winning shot to secure the third title. He also served as an assistant coach, radio analyst, general manager and team vice president. He helped rebuild a Bulls franchise with players such as Derrick Rose, Joachim Noah, Luol Deng and Kirk Heinrich but the first of three knee injuries to Rose crippled the Bulls chances of another title.

After several more years as of trying to reshape the Bulls after Rose’s injury, Paxson stepped down, accepting a role as an advisor to new team president Arturas Karnisovas.

Paxson is one of the most open and honest people individuals on the Chicago sports landscape and he has planets of stories about his days with the Bulls, Notre Dame and growing up in basketball mad Dayton Ohio.
