You can see her every Sunday at some NFL stadium. Laura Okmin’s job as sideline reporter for FOX Sports has gained her a national reputation for solid journalism and a professional demeanor second to none. And she ranks as the third longest tenured sideline reporter behind Lisa Salters and Michele Tafoya. But her climb to success included lessons learned from some of the very best athletes such as Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and Brian Urlacher and she’s quick to credit famed broadcasters like Dock Stockton and Kevin Harlan.

But perhaps her biggest success is the development of her company, Galvanize, aimed at helping women break through on all levels of the sports broadcasting and management business. “It started with some 20 women. Now there are over 2,500” said an elated Okmin who wants to give back as much as she’s gotten.

Her entertaining interview takes you behind the scenes of a self made woman who loves her jobs but more importantly wants young women to say see how women are again on camera the way men have.
