Through the window and the distance Kakashi can still see far too many details he shouldn’t be privy to. Like, the way beads of sweat cling to Iruka’s temple, make his base layer shirt cling at the upper arms, the way his throat moves while he’s drinking from his water bottle. His eyes follow a drop of water that escapes, traces down his chin and neck and disappears under his shirt. His eyes follow the bottle as it’s returned to the desk, locked on to the part his lips had touched."
