Well, let me tell ya, Apocalypse Now is one crazy-ass movie. It's like they took the wildness of a Donnybrook, the intensity of a barn burner, and the madness of a hockey brawl and shoved it all into a three-and-a-half-hour flick. The story follows a fella named Captain Willard who's sent up the river in Vietnam to terminate a rogue colonel who's gone totally off the rails. Along the way, he meets all sorts of wild characters, including some gnarly-ass surfers, a French plantation owner, and a crazy-ass helicopter pilot. The thing is, the whole time you're watching this movie, you're like, "What in the actual fuck is going on here?" There's explosions, gunfire, and all sorts of chaos. And the cinematography is so trippy, it's like they filmed the whole thing through a haze of Alberta premium. But despite all the madness, there's a real sense of depth to this movie. It's like they're trying to show you the dark side of humanity, the things we're capable of when we're pushed to our limits. And in the end, it all culminates in this epic showdown that's so intense, it'll have you white-knuckling your Puppers for days.Overall, Apocalypse Now is a crazy-ass movie that's not for the faint of heart. But if you're up for a wild ride, it's well worth checking out.
Jason, Andy and Dana will discuss a 1985 movie weekly, breaking down all the nonsense there within. The 3 hosts all work together and everyone else around them was getting really annoyed at all the movie talk, so they decided to annoy the world in podcast form.
Check out previous seasons to hear them discuss 1982, 1983 & 1984 movies, as well as a full season of Love Boat episodes (if that is your thing). Plus one-off specials and a weekly mini "what are we watching" podcast.
