Being chosen by God in love and sanctified by his Spirit, it is fitting for us to be merciful, kind, humble, meek, and patient people. We now have received mercy, should show mercy. We who have known his kindness should be kind to others. We who understand our unworthiness should be humble and meek. And we who trust in God's providential purposes in our life and goodwill towards us have every reason to be patient.
Lord, we know that we are not all that we should be but often fall short in many things. We know that our attitude of heart and our conduct is often not fitting for such as have received your mercy. Change our hearts, O God, and help us to walk in such manner as the elect of God ought to walk. Help prepare our bodies to be a holy place or temple where You will dwell! Amen.
