Korea's biggest boy band has just made a come back this year, dropping their highly anticipated single 'Still Life' after a four-year hiatus, we are incredibly excited for what this could possibly mean for the band and the Korean pop scene
We reminisce back on our highschool days when Big Bang was a global sensation with many of us being introduced to the korean music scene through their immensely popular track 'Fantastic Baby' that borrowed many elements visually and sonically from western pop music at the time, Big Bang differentiated themselves through language and immense talent to break through internationally and create a new fanbase for korean pop
However with their rise and immense public exposure as Korea's next it thing, we explore contextually many of the controversies from not just a musical standpoint but also the history and influence of the members on korea, touching on the incredibly scandalous Burning Sun scandal that forced them into a hiatus
