Our beloved pets and animals can often be displaced or lost and just need a ride home. Without the kindness of others, many strays and runaways never make it back home or find their way to a new forever home. This is where commercial drivers are helping. Operation Roger Truckers Pet Transport is a nonprofit founded by Sue Weiss, a former commercial driver after she wanted to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Her organization coordinates pet transports across the country. They make this happen through donations and the help of volunteer commercial drivers who take animals on their semi to their destination.
