On May 16, 1998, Carole Garton and her unborn baby were shot to death in their home. Almost immediately, the prime suspect confessed to killing her, but he had no motive. The confession was only the beginning of what proved to be a bizarre and twisted plot involving multiple assassinations and a supposed covert military operation called "The Company".
