The men responsible were eventually brought to justice, but not before multiple citizen-lead militias fought the militias of guards intended to protect the prisoners to issue some vigilante justice.SOURCESThe Ashland Tragedy: Murder, a Mob and a Militia in Kentucky – January 25, 2021; book by H.
