Listen

Description

This week is the second in our four-part “Be Grateful” prayer series. We will be asking God to grant us a listening heart, which is at the core of being grateful.

Rosa and I would like to thank you so much for your support to help the people of Bosconia. With your generous gifts we have been able to provide mattresses to families.

To continue supporting, please send your gifts to Rosa Guevara Naweji at 504, Andrew Drive. Crooks, SD 57020.

Gratitude requires a listening heart. To appreciate life, people, and the world where we live, we need to come from a place of love, goodness, and grace, with which God can help.

Being loving, good, and gracious, is often out of reach because of our sinfulness and brokenness.

Throughout this week, choose to listen more to others rather than sharing your opinion. Also, choose to ask God to grant you God’s understanding of what you hear from or learn about people as well as what is going on in your life.

Here’s a scripture that can help us pray this week,

… but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your hearts to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to our God and Father. (From Ephesians 5:18-20, NASB).

Please, join us in a moment of prayer.

“Most precious, loving, and gracious Father,

I give thanks to you, Lord, for you are good. Your steadfast love for me and all humankind endures forever. This week, I pray asking the peace of Christ to rule in my heart that He alone will dwell in my. Help me be patient and learn more on how to listen for what you need me to hear when I am with anybody this week. Enable me to clearly see you even in the midst of difficult situations throughout this week. I choose to trust that you are with me no matter what I face. I will always sing to the Lord. I will shout joyfully to the Rock of my salvation that you are, o my God. You are the great King above all. You have got the whole cosmos in your hands. I am thankful that the great God, the Maker of the universe is with me and helping me share God’s love, goodness, and grace with everyone else I meet in my life. In Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
