Let us read from 2 Timothy 1:6-7,
"Because of this, I’m reminding you to revive God’s gift that is in you through the laying on of my hands. God didn’t give us a spirit that is timid but one that is powerful, loving, and self-controlled."
The greatest gift we have received from God is faith in God through Christ.
Faith isn’t just a set of belief systems we embrace. It is a state of being. It is who God has called us to be.
Biblical faith comes out of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
We maintain our faith in God when we intentionally live by God’s Word, and let the Holy Spirit lead us on a daily basis.
Let us pray about all that.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the gift of Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the light. Through faith in Christ, I am now your child. Having faith in you helps me make sense of all the plans you have for me, plans to prosper me and not harm me. Your plans give me hope and a future. Thank you so much for that. Help me maintain my faith in you, no matter what. I want to keep my eyes on you only knowing that my help always comes from you, my Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. You are my Shepherd, and because of that, I lack nothing. Help me show that I am a child of God in all my ways this week and until the end of my journey here on earth. In Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
