This week, we are asking God to help us with our doubts and fears.
Let us read from Matthew 11:28-30,
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Doubts and fears should not push us away from God, even when they question our faith in God, our Heavenly Father, our Maker and Lord.
Doubts and fears are instruments that can help us move deeper in the reality that God has power over everyone and everything. In other words, every doubt and fear we experience is an invitation onto a new journey with God as our Shepherd.
Today’, traveling has been made so much easier because of the use of technology, specifically when it comes to maps we can access on our devices, helping us get to our destinations.
Whenever we miss an exit or do not remember our way to wherever we go, our devices can suggest how to do it and get back onto the right path.
But, in real life and when dealing with life’s challenges, we don’t have the kind of technology to help us with our individual and unique doubts and fears.
However, God’s Word contains a lot of maps to help us find our way again, and end in the various destinations in life where we need to be.
Scripture helps us turn our doubts and fears into steps that lead us back onto the right path, and eventually take us to our different destinations in life.
Doubts and fears should help us draw closer to God through Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Let us pray and ask God to help us this week use our doubts and fears as a means to draw closer to God through Christ.
Most precious and loving Father,
Life is so much bigger than me and what I can truly control on daily basis. My plans and dreams often do not come to fruition because I can only change so much of who I am and what I have, which makes me so fragile and limited. As a result, and whenever I face very challenging times in my life, doubts and fears arise. I feel so powerless and hopeless to the point I sometimes doubt of your unlimited power that Scripture says I can experience through faith in Christ. Help me this week, and every single day of my life here on earth, to use my doubts and fears to draw closer to you. When I feel like giving up on my faith in you, help me find my way back to you, my God, my Maker and my Savior. In Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
Have a very blessed week!
