God is a restorer to all and He brings purpose out of pain. Joseph was able to be a good leader and be fruitful in the land of his affliction because he chose to forget the past, he chose Manasseh. Manasseh means to forget and it is what Joseph named his son. After Manasseh came Ephraim. Ephraim means to be fruitful. In order to have Ephraim (to be fruitful) we first have to have Manasseh (to forget the past).
