After 25 years, 8 months and 6 days with the NYC EMS, John Manning has retired. He loved his work but he is in an uproar over the lack of parity with the FDNY, which runs the EMS. The hot issue right now is EMS’ers suffering from 9/11 illnesses. They are not getting the same benefits as FDNY’ers & NYPD’ers. Some are losing their jobs because of their 9/11 illnesses.
