We take a look at Ambrose Burnside, who became Commander of the Army Of The Potomac after the dismissal of McClellan. Although well liked by his men, he is generally thought of as an incompetent leader who was promoted above his abilities, which even he admits. After the disasters of Fredericksburg and The Crater he was let go of command of the Potomac and never did anything of note for the rest of the war.
