Danell is a former Cowboys of Color Rodeo Champion, International Professional Rodeo Association bull riding champion, two-time International Finals Rodeo champion, 1998 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association overall, and bull riding rookie of the year. His best time was a 90-point winning ride on bull Rapid Fire at the 1998 National Finals Rodeo. His heroes are the late Arthur Stoner, a three-time IPRA bareback riding champion, and Jesse Guillory, a former International Finals Rodeo qualifier.
