Today: [Isaiah 60] Arise, Shine for Thy Light is come. In Isaiah 60 the prophet looks down through time and sees the coming of Jesus as the light of the world. Out of 500 years of chaos and darkness, the gap between the Old and the New Testamental periods, Jesus comes forth into the earth and all of human history pivots on the brief 3 ½ years of His earthly ministry. His greatness not only manifests in the demonstration of God in Christ but in His sinless, pure humanity. As “very God” and “very man” He came and demonstrated to us the restoration of the dominion lost in the garden, restored in Christ and imputed to those of us who have been called to bear His name among the nations of the earth.
