Today: [John 19:] The Suffering of the Cross: In John 19, Jesus is brutalized by Pilate while the mob cries out for His death by crucifixion. He led to the Place of the Skull, and His body hangs on the cross to die. Usually, these passages are only read on Easter morning; they are so uncomfortable to consider. A price is being paid for you and me as we look on with Jesus' mother and the few faithful followers who stare aghast at the unthinkable scene before them.
