If Lincoln were around today, he’d be a fascinating figure in modern politics. The guy was a unifier, but he was also a hardcore nationalist in the sense that he believed in a strong, united America above all else. His whole presidency was about keeping the country together at all costs, and he wasn’t afraid to make tough calls to do it. If he saw today’s division, he’d probably be out there hammering the message that the country comes first—above party lines, personal agendas, and outside influences.Internationally, Lincoln wasn’t about flexing military muscle just for the sake of it, but he was definitely an “America First” kind of guy. He believed in protecting U.S. interests and making sure foreign powers didn’t interfere with American affairs. In today’s world, he’d likely take a tough stance on issues like China, border security, and global trade deals—always putting national strength and economic stability first. That’s something he’d have in common with Trump: both were nationalist leaders who focused on securing America’s power, even if it meant ruffling feathers.
