When the uniform comes off for the very last time...the emotions of all those years come rolling in! Every athlete has their final game, their final moment of competition. When you are young and going through life, you never think that day could be your last. It just happens, all of a sudden you are no longer a softball player.
All those years of practicing, wanting to quit, wishing it was over...it has finally come. You know longer wear a uniform, your playing days are over. It's not a matter of, if it will happen...it is a matter of when. Sooner or later, you will get to a point where your life no longer revolves around the game, and that is ok. But, while it is your life, go for it! Go for it hard! Don't just go through the motions, don't just mail it in.
You will regret everything you didn't do. It is human nature to look back on yesteryear and want to go back and do it again. YOU CAN'T, you only get this day one time. Only once do you get to do this day.
Get everything you can out of every day! Live in this moment and enjoy it while you can! Tomorrow will be here soon enough!
