Time to slap on some spandex, Slackers! This week is all about Hair Bands, a.k.a Glam Metal! From Quiet Riot, to Warrant, the 80s and even early 90s were dominated by the bands of the Sunset Strip. But this wasn't just a West Coast, or even just a US phenomenon. It was all about heavy guitars played by dudes with big egos and even bigger hair. With copious amounts of "guyliner" for good measure.
I take a look at one website's Top 10 list of hair bands, and the obvious and glaring omissions that were made. There are some questions raised as well: Is Bon Jovi really a hair band? What about Guns N' Roses? And who else should be in the Top 10?
So throw on your best jean jacket, grow that mullet, and get ready to rock & roll all night.
