Description

In this episode host Trey Evans gives commentary on the recent shooting and killing of Jayland Walker in Akron, OH. The 25 year old was shot at 90 times by police while running away from them. The incident eerily reinforces a point Frederick Douglass made during his famous "What To The Slave Is Your 4th of July?"' speech which he delivered in 1852. In that speech Douglass speaks to the injustice then and harsh punishment, including death of black people accused of crimes in comparison to white people. 170 years later, those words illuminate the same issues today.
